**voco Reading Hotel has a fantastic opportunity to join the team **as a Director of Sales**

voco Reading, adjacent to Reading Select Car Stadium, our modern hotel has thoughtful touches and distinctive design, guests can take advantage and enjoy our leisure facilities with a swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi, and gym. We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Director of Sales to lead our hotel sales teams, reporting to our Hotel Manager, the Director of Sales has responsibility for the effective sales of the voco Reading hotel bedrooms, meeting rooms and food & beverage outlets to support delivery on the hotel financial strategy.

**The Role**:

- Responsible for the creation and execution of the hotel’s sales & marketing plan on an annual basis. The plan should support the hotel’s business plan and financial targets by market segment; ensuring the overall achievement of the hotel’s annual budgeted sales and is in line with the brand’s vision and values.
- Take responsibility for an allocated portfolio of accounts, undertaking complete account management responsibilities for maintaining, developing, and maximizing opportunities for the hotel and group where appropriate, achieving individual targets set for the year.
- To review forecast with the Revenue Team to understand and identify where trough periods exist and put in place tactical sales activity to drive revenues into these specific months as appropriate.
- As a member of the hotel’s Senior Management team, play an active role in the development of the hotel’s Business Plan
- Oversee the management of the team ensuring key sales disciplines are completed and strategic account plans are place for their specialist markets. Develop sales goals and strategies with the team to ensure alignment with the brand business strategy.
- Support the team in the re-negotiation and re-contracting of annual rate agreements in order to ensure that new contracts are in line with the hotels agreed financial KPI’s.
- To liaise with the PR, Marketing team or agencies and take the lead on both local and national / international initiatives as reasonably required to ensure a cohesive approach is delivered, supporting the commercial success of the hotel’s communication plan. The communication plan will encompass both off / online communications and the hotel’s social media strategy and delivery.
- To attend and represent the hotel at relevant trade shows and sales missions both held domestically and internationally on a as required basis.
- Accountable for performance metrics
- Re-design and implements new processes or systems
- Builds relationships and networks across and outside the business
- Motivates, engages, and leads diverse teams

**To be considered as our Director of Sales, you should have**:

- A solid track record of sales achievement in the service and hospitality industry is essential for this role.
- A minimum of 2 years senior sales leadership in the role of Director of Sales or similar
- You will have strong strategic planning skills, ability to look ahead and strategies in place to support the plans.
- A degree of knowledge of all market segments i.e., corporate, conference and leisure is crucial.
- You should have a well-developed commercial acumen and ability to take calculated risks.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills are key.
- Ideally you will be externally well networked and is aware of local, national and global trends in the commercial world.
- It is essential that you can work well under pressure, with mínimal supervision and maintain high standards and attention to detail.
- You will need to possess excellent research skills and analytical abilities.
- Brings in external best practice
