Spots & Stripes are now looking for a meticulous and ambitious Junior Merchandiser to join our growing team at our HQ in Seend, Wiltshire. You will play a pivotal role in the brand’s day-to-day operations - managing procurement processes and ensuring the accuracy of our data. As the Junior Merchandiser, you will be responsible for liaising with suppliers, co-ordinating stock purchases, maintaining precise records and forecasting sales volumes/stock levels. This is our first merchandising appointment and we would expect this role to grow as the company grows.
The role comes with both responsibility and autonomy - so, the title is less important than being the absolute right person for the job and a good fit for the team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to further their career in the skincare industry and within the merchandising function.
**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Oversee timely delivery of goods from suppliers
- Managing and collating the Monday trade pack
- Maintain and manage the WSSI
- Producing analysis to determine replenishment strategy
- Ensure accuracy of delivery dates on POs
- Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs
- Help to maximise commercial opportunities through effective inventory management and forecasting of sales and stock levels
- Update internal databases with order details, including dates, vendors, and quantities
- Maintain comprehensive records of contracts, discounts and costs
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure receipt of goods in optimal condition
- Collaborate with wholesalers and their stock requirements
- Work with third party online vendors to ensure stock availability and condition
- Work closely with the internal team, especially marketing, to ensure successful sales and marketing activities
- Ensure stock accuracy by collating data from monthly stock reports
- Liaise with suppliers for other ad hoc information as required to facilitate import and export
- Oversee invoice queries and disputes
- Manage return of faulty stock and subsequent remuneration from suppliers
**What we look for**
- Min 2 years working in merchandising and/or supply chain management
- Experience working with forecasting sales volumes, stock levels and sales budgets, especially in a fast moving consumer goods brand.
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency in manipulating data within Excel
- Commercial awareness
- Confident decision maker
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
- High attention to detail to minimise errors
- Excellent communication skills internally and externally
- Strong understanding of supply chain procedures
- Ability to work independently as this role does not have a direct manager
- Experience in a company undergoing rapid growth
- Driving licence
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £25,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
