We currently have an opportunity for a
**Payroll Assistant **to join our team based
**in Bristol or Exeter. **Joining us on a
**12 month Fixed Term Contract** basis, you will receive a competitive salary of
**£25,000 - £27,000 per annum **plus excellent benefits.

**About the role**

As our Payroll Assistant you willbe part of a highly organised team responsible for the successful delivery of our monthly payroll, ensuring all colleagues are paid accurately and on time, whilst meeting all legislative and company payroll requirements.

You will deliver exceptional customer service, have a high attention to detail, and be able to build strong, credible and lasting relationships with colleagues across the Group.

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Monthly Payroll administration and data entry to ensure colleagues pay is accurate and on time, and associated deductions are reconciled with the appropriate third party
- Reconciling payments and liaising with third parties to balance our accounts and meet our deadlines; including HMRC, local authorities, pension providers etc
- Ensuring strong governance of our People policies with regards to pay
- Handling Payroll queries and recommending new ways of working to enable the team to meet the changing need of the workforce
- Escalating complex queries and contacts to the appropriate People team for further consideration and advice
- Acting as the gatekeeper to our People systems, ensuring data is accurate, well maintained and relevant, challenging requests that do not meet our data standards

**What we are looking for**:

- Experience of working in payroll or applicable environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Confidence dealing with internal and external contacts at all levels
- Excellent working experience in Microsoft 365 programmes
- The ability to maintain complete confidentiality, complying with GDPR regulations and our employee privacy notice
