**Salary **This role is Monday to Friday, Salary £23,000 to £30,000 depending on experience.

**The role**

The Procurement Assistant will work with the Procurement Manager in sourcing and purchasing materials, supplies, and services necessary for our business operations.
- Assist the Procurement Manager with all buying related tasks
- Negotiate on pricing and terms with suppliers.
- Assist in the preparation and issue of purchase orders and contracts
- Source and identify potential vendors and suppliers based on quality, price, and delivery times
- Track and monitor inventory levels to ensure best supply for business operations.
- Work with internal departments to coordinate purchasing and delivery schedules.
- Resolve any issues or discrepancies with orders, invoices, and deliveries.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to procurement activities.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure that the right products are available at the right time
- Perform regular analysis of inventory levels and assist in developing strategies to optimize inventory turnover
- Coordinate with the warehouse and shipping team to ensure timely delivery of products and manage any delivery or shipment issues
- Assist in the resolution of any issues related to orders, invoices, and payments
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors and ensure that they meet the company's quality and delivery standards
- Conduct market research to identify new products and vendors and stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments

Provide support to the procurement manager and other team members as needed

**Experience**
- Degree in buying and merchandising, business or qualifications in CIPS, or equivalent industry/work experience.
- At least 1 year of experience in procurement or related field
- Ideally understand HVAC supplies and equipment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with procurement software and tools

**Knowledge, Languages, Skills, and Attributes**
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Detail-oriented and able to work with a high degree of accuracy.
- Knowledge of procurement regulations and procedures is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to anticipate, plan and execute purchasing in accordance with business needs.
- You will be confident and outgoing, as you will be expected to deputise for the Procurement Manager.
- Extremely good communication skills both verbal and written
- Able to negotiate over the phone or in person.
- Effective influencing and negotiating skills.
