Would you like to develop your engineering knowledge on a state of the art building facilities across a global pharmaceutical company?

A pharmaceutical company based in Hertfordshire are currently looking to appoint a Multi-Skilled Utilities Engineer due to recent funding where the role is to provide both Mechanical and Electrical engineering support across their business. The primary aimis to support both trades to ensure the site is fully compliant and working to the current regulations, standards, company procedures and practices.

**Main Duties/Responsibilities**:
Risk Management:

- Undertake a rolling programme of reviews and changes (as funds permit) to minimise the risk to business through system failures.
- Conduct audits to ensure critical spares are held or are available within a suitable lead time to return the site to normal operation in the event of plant failures
- Undertake a programme of risk assessments and control measures to minimise the likelihood of injury, business disruption or environmental discharge.

Engineering Safety:

- Compliance with environmental, health and safety systems.
- Conduct regular audits and work among teams to implement improvement plans
- Provide support to Authorised Engineers/Appointed Persons
- Updating and reviewing of Risks assessments
- Represent Utility Engineering during general site EHS meetings and audits
- Ensure full statutory and regulatory compliance in all areas of responsibility

General:

- Ensure documentation and data is completed to statutory, H&S and GxP standards
- Control of service contracts and providers to ensure maintenance activities are undertaken according to plan
- Fault finding and issue resolution where other parts of the engineering team need additional support.
- Continuous Improvement activities within area of responsibility
- Assessment of critical spares requirements, reviewing supply and storage needs.
- Reactive Maintenance: - Recovery from equipment failures, including investigations.
- Managing contractors for specific maintenance and throughout Project activities
- The optimisation of plant/equipment by implementing condition-based maintenance systems.
- Minimizing energy consumption through effective control and use of plant and systems.
- Budgets and business plans for area of responsibility

Projects:

- Ensure Good Engineering Practices (GEP) are employed in the design, installation, and commissioning of Assets.
- Support on equipment selection, participating in detailed design development and working with Teams to ensure robust solutions are implemented to ensure reliability.
- Commissioning activities to certify equipment will operate in accordance with design intent and to ensure installation and qualification tasks are executed smoothly.

**Qualifications Requirements**:

- Excellent verbal and written English skills
- Educated to ‘A’ level standard/degree standard or equivalent
- Qualified in Electrical Installations C&G 2391
- Wiring regulations BS7671 17th/18th edition
- Engineering qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

**Experience Required**:

- Engineering experience in the pharmaceutical or similar regulated environment
- Multi-Skilled in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Water systems and associated risks
- AHU’s, chilled and compressed air systems
- Previous experience working in a GxP or other regulated although not essential, would be beneficial
- Record keeping and management of to meet statutory and mandatory requirements
