Room Leader

Our Lead Early Years Educators (Room Leads) are key members of the Kingwood Children Leadership team. They must: lead and deliver outstanding teaching and learning; support and mentor our team; build and maintain strong relationships with our children and their families; and foster a love of the outdoors and the magic of the natural world.

It is essential that applicants hold a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Childcare and Early Years.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

- Planning, preparation and facilitating stimulating activities that support children’s learning, development, and individual needs, embedding the ethos and values of our Kingwood Culture.
- Maintaining an up-to-date online learning journey on key children for parents / carers; and monitoring the quality of learning journeys conducted by your team.
- Leading a team of Educators / Practitioners: role modelling high expectations with a committed and enthusiastic approach.
- Being a full member of the setting leadership team: planning and implementing strategic development plans.
- Facilitating and supporting with mealtimes - promoting our ‘family meal’ approach.
- Communication with parents via observations, handovers and direct messages.
- Working with parents / carers of children with additional needs in order to facilitate their inclusion into the setting.
- Working with external agencies to achieve the best outcomes for all children.
- Actively taking responsibility for your area of responsibility, maintaining resources and recommending purchases where applicable.
- Being accountable for your own development, and seeking out opportunities to learn new skills.
