**Service**:
Ofsted Regulated Residential Children’s Home, Regulated for the care of EBD and / or LD children.

**Hours of work**:
**150 hours per month +, working on a one on two off rolling rota......... 8am-10pm ** (Sleep in is extra) **Sleeps 11pm-8.00am. Overtime available**

**Salary**:
RSW - From £16,00 pa including Sleeps at £85.01. Plus overtime

**Salary breakdown**:
RSW - £11 per hour to start during probation, + £85.01 per ‘sleep in’ shift.

**Hours**:
14 hour shifts; working hours are 08:00-22:00, ‘sleep in’ hours are 23:00 - 08:00.

**Shift pattern**:
RSW - 1x14 hour shift on, 2 shifts off (1 on 2 off). 14 hours.

**North West Youth Services provide quality person centred care to the most vulnerable and at-risk children; we are seeking staff members to work on a 3:1 basis for our residential children’s home in Cabus - which is a large 1 bed provision.**

In this role you will be working shifts, assisting the young people in all aspects of their everyday life. No two days will be the same; the role is an exciting challenge.

Day to day in the role you may be:

- Arranging and supporting a child to participate in exciting activities and supporting their interests and hobbies.
- Preparing meals, undertaking shopping trips.
- Attending important meetings with social services or health services.
- Helping to support and encourage our children to engage in and be successful in education.
- Creating a homely environment in which our children can feel safe and cared for.
- Collaborating and communicating with your colleagues to implement the best possible care practices.
- Ensuring that recording and reporting is undertaken to a very high standard.

You will be provided with a comprehensive in-house training and induction programme and we will commit to ensuring that you are promptly enrolled onto a suitable Level 3 / 4 Diploma qualification if this is something that you do not already have; furthermore, we will provide help and assistance to ensure you are supported through this qualification.

**As a Residential Support Worker or Team Leader, you will have the following**:

- The desire and passion to safeguard, motivate, and inspire the young people in your care.
- Good communication skills to work effectively with colleagues, managers, in addition to working closely alongside other external professionals.
- The characteristics and personality to handle challenging behaviour effectively and professionally.
- The flexibility to undertake shift work including weekends, evenings & sleep in duties.
