**Asbestos Inspector**

**Salary up to £40k (depending on experience) plus £5,800 car allowance**

**This role is homebased with travel throughout the South UK, some overnight stays will be required**

**Full time, Permanent**

We are seeking a dedicated Asbestos Inspector to join our team at Anchor. You will provide crucial support to the Asbestos Compliance Manager to ensure the robust implementation and enforcement of our Asbestos Management System (AMS). Your role will be instrumental in maintaining compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations under CAR2012 and supporting various asbestos-related activities across the business.

Responsibilities will include:

- Ensuring compliance with Anchor's statutory and regulatory obligations under CAR2012.
- Assisting in planning and scoping licensed and non-licensed asbestos removal jobs.
- Managing general enquiries related to asbestos in your designated geographical area.
- Conducting complex asbestos visual inspections, ensuring monthly KPIs are met and full asbestos compliance is maintained.
- Planning and assessing requirements for R&D surveys.
- Assisting in incident investigations.
- Maintaining and updating the asbestos register following abatement and approving contractor survey uploads.
- Conducting audits on asbestos contractors, including work-in-progress and post-inspections.
- Attending pre-start meetings for planned investment work.
- Assisting in planning asbestos surveys and removal for major refurbishments and demolition projects.
- Developing individual asbestos management plans for high-risk locations.
- Training colleagues in completing asbestos visual inspections using the Besafe on-site app.
- Providing support to the asbestos administrator as needed.
- Assisting in managing asbestos contracts and implementing asbestos policies and procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with the Asbestos Management System across all property operations, colleagues, suppliers, and contractors.
- Fostering relationships within Property and Assets and other directorates to promote awareness and understanding of statutory asbestos compliance.

**About You**

To be successful in this role we’d like you to have;
Qualifications:

- BOHS P402 and P405 qualifications or equivalent.
- GCSEs in Maths and English as a minimum.

Knowledge and Experience:

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience within the asbestos industry as a surveyor or surveyor/analyst, with experience in asbestos project management and abatement works.
- Experience in writing proposals, survey reports, asbestos plans, and registers.
- Experience managing asbestos in domestic and care home settings.
- Proven experience with a Housing Association, a Housing Association Contractor, or similar organization in compliance activities.
- Experience in implementing and driving continuous improvement in IT systems, processes, and policies.
- Contractor management experience, including standard forms of contract, procurement methods, and contract administration.
- In-depth knowledge of current and emerging asbestos legislation, specifically Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, HSG247 for licensed asbestos works, HSG264 for surveying, and HSG248 for analyst guides.
- Understanding of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
- Knowledge of asbestos risk management in maintenance and planned maintenance compliance in a dispersed portfolio environment.
- Ability to deliver a wide range of asbestos risk management solutions.
