**The Role**:
We have a Senior Healthcare Support Worker vacancy at band 3 within our Speech and Language Therapy Adult Learning Disability Service

We are looking for people who have an interest in working with people with communication and/or swallowing support needs and have experience in health or social care environments.

We are seeking reliable, flexible and organised people to join our ALD team of SLTs.You will work alongside SLTS in delivering treatment programmes and preparing resources such as training packs and therapy material. You will be part of a busy team often working to tight deadlines and must be able to complete tasks quickly and efficiently. Many of our interventions are carried out in client's homes often working with families and carers.

It is essential that you are familiar with Microsoft Office software such as Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint and that your written and spoken English language skills are of a high standard.

The speech and language therapy service is innovative and supportive. Supervision and Support are provided for staff within the team. All staff have a personal development plan and are encouraged to extend their skills through a variety of CPD activities.

**What we'll need you to bring**:

- Ability to carry out assigned patient/client care/therapy tasks effectively within a busy environment.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- To actively participate in the Personal Development Plan process to fulfil the requirements of continuing professional development.
- Working knowledge of basic information technology.
- Knowledge of speech and language therapy techniques and/or activities relating to client group.

**It would be great if you also have**:
- Experience working alongside speech and language therapists.
- Experience of working with adults or children with communication or swallowing difficulties
- Understanding of impact of communication and swallowing difficulties on adults and children
- Creative skills to make

therapy resources
- Experience using communication skills to assist others, care and compassion and supporting others to learn and develop

**Contract type**:
Permanent

Part Time

30 hours

Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.

**Location and Working Pattern**:
Kirklands Hospital (Longdales Cottage)

The working pattern for this role 4 x 7.5 hours - start/finish times and days worked negotioable.
