**LIVE** WORK** SUPPORT**
Within each geographical area of Wiltshire, we have a Respite Service for adults with learning disabilities and customers with high physical health needs and behaviours that might present as challenging. As part of our Respite Service we provide 24-hour care to our customers throughout the year.
Day Services work alongside customers to identify the outcomes they wish to achieve. Individuals are supported to participate in a wide range of activities based either in the service or in their local community.
**About the role**
The role of Support Worker requires the applicant to work in a person-centred manner, promoting well-being, choices, dignity and independence. Customers accessing the service may require support with their personal care needs, social daily living skills and leisure or work activities.
You will receive regular training opportunities to help support you in this role and you will work within the council's 'Our Identity'. You will be supported to undertake a 26-week probationary period with regular meetings throughout this period to monitor progress.
A 10% additional payment will be added to your hourly rate to cover unsocial hours and a 33.3% payment will be added to your hourly rate for any waking nights.
**About you**
Ideally, we will look to you to have at least two years of experience working with customers who have a learning disability and who may have high complex physical health needs. Experience in working with customers who may present behaviours that challenge is beneficial.
Basic IT skills are also essential as you will be expected to access training online and write reports. You should also be willing to undertake mandatory training relevant to the role.

**Due to the nature of this role and recent changes to the Health and Social Care Act 2008 the post holder must be double vaccinated against Covid 19 with the second jab having taken place at least 14 days prior to the start date for this role.
