Shrewsbury, United Kingdom SEVERN TRENT Full time

What do you get if you cross an award winning, innovative, water company and over 300 dedicated team members? Our Capital Design team of course

Our ambitious and innovative projects (all 5000+ of them) help to combat the challenges of waste and water infrastructure, flooding and water quality. Be a part of something bringing benefits to our communities, health outcomes and environment.

It could be the biggest challenge of your career. If you want to do more because you care, we’d love to talk to you.

We are currently recruiting for a Sustainability and Carbon Reporting Expert to join our Capital Sustainability team. Our growing sustainability team is developing, and we need you to help inform on our commitments and drive change through clear and insightful data. Our commitments are industry leading to reach Net Zero by 2030, supported by our Science Based Targets.

We have core objectives to reduce our impact on the environment, boost biodiversity, putting nature at the heart of what we do, and be leaders in sustainability. Join us, to help us do it

**EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW**

In this role, you will be the Scope 3 Capital Reporting Expert for the Capital and Commercial Services Directorate at Severn Trent, whilst having the flexibility to transfer your skills and experience to other sustainability aspects such as biodiversity and TNFD (Task Force for Nature Financial Disclosure). You’ll deliver internal and external reporting to inform continuous development in design and lower our carbon impact in construction. You will ensure regulatory compliance and demonstrate our progress towards Net Zero and science-based targets.

You’ll monitor performance against our contractual carbon reduction emissions targets and provide teams with critical performance data and insight that they can use to drive GHG reduction. You will own the development of our carbon tools, and how they interact with other sustainable optioneering tools. You will champion the development of compliance and governance in capital scope 3 reporting, and other sustainability disciplines.

**WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE**

You will be highly skilled in building relationships with internal and external stakeholders, with an analytical mindset, able to use complex data and insights to influence decision making at senior levels. You will have a strong attention to detail, with the ability to adapt to quickly understand processes in relation to data. You will have strong IT skills with packages such as Excel and Power BI, with strong data science and analytical skills. You will demonstrate confidence to put forward new ideas and challenge the status-quo, with excellent project planning and organisation skills, managing both reactive and proactive workloads.

The right skills and experience are important. But if you have the right character, positivity and a caring attitude we want to talk to you, too.

We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality as we know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our communities. We want people who show up and get involve. Those who are ready to be part of something bigger and who want to make a difference because they care. Is that you?

**We do more, because we care.**

**WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU**

It’s not just a job you’ll get here, you’ll get a career too. We have a range of benefits that reward and recognise great work and award-winning training to ensure you reach your potential. And we’ll also help you play your part in looking after the environment and the community in which we live. Here’s some of our favourites:

- 28 days holiday + bank holidays (and the ability to buy / sell up to 5 additional days per year)
- Annual bonus scheme (of up to £2,250 depending on company performance)

- Sharesave - the chance to buy Severn Trent Plc shares at a discounted rate
- Electric vehicle scheme and retail offers
