A fantastic opportunity is now available for a part time evening support worker to help a lady with motor neurone disease in the Heaton’s area of Stockport. The right care giver will assist this lady with all aspects of her evening routine 3 days a week.

Care givers will support the service user by supporting with tasks such as personal care and activities of daily living such as feeding, management of her PEG for medications and supporting her to spend time with her husband and young daughter, she requires equipment to transfer and this is tailored with a moving and handling plan to transfer ensuring her and support workers safety. A comprehensive care plan is in place that outlines her needs. Our client enjoys going out, such as trips to the local Café’s and garden centres and supporting her to access the community will be a big part of this role

Care givers will be supporting the service user as her condition changes and will be there to help her meet the new challenges, such as new communication aid technologies being employed.

**Ideal care givers will have experience in assisting someone with this terrible neurological disease and in the management of PEG care however full training and shadowing will be provided.**

**Care experience and Strong communication skills are a must**

**This position is only available to female support workers and will require flexibility over 7 days.**

Part-time hours: 20-25 per week

**Salary**: £11.00-£11.30 per hour
