**Rural Chartered Surveyor | Edinburgh and the Lothians**

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and driven individual to become a key member of our rural chartered surveying team. Our team services the requirements of diverse and multi-faceted businesses and organisations in the rural economy.

You will be joining a well-established firm of chartered surveyors and land agents, with a strong reputation and growth plan driven by our core values. Our diverse workload spans rural professional practice, with a core of retained estate and rural business management work, and associated strategic consultancy, including valuations, compulsory purchase and compensation, grant and subsidy support and landlord and tenant matters. You will take responsibility for delivering excellent estate and rural business management on behalf of our diverse client base.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide expert advice to clients on a range of land and property matters.
- Conduct valuations of rural properties, including farms, estates, and forestry.
- Manage and oversee the sale and purchase of rural properties, including negotiating with buyers and sellers.
- Advise clients on property management, including maintenance, repairs, and tenant relationships.
- Provide strategic consultancy services, including advice on diversification and natural capital.
- Conduct rent review and lease renewal negotiations on behalf of clients.
- Provide compulsory purchase and compensation advice to clients.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, and actively seek out new business opportunities.
- Conduct research and analysis of market trends and developments in the rural sector.
- Keep up to date with relevant land and property legislation and regulations.
- Provide support and guidance to junior members of staff.
- Participate in networking and business development activities.
- Represent FBR Seed in a professional and positive manner at all times.

Key Skills:

- MRICS Qualified Chartered Surveyor.
- In-depth knowledge of rural land management and agriculture.
- Familiarity with relevant Scottish land and property legislation.
- Ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presentations.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of the rural economy.
- Analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in the use of IT, including GIS software and databases.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive and flexible approach to work.
- Full driving license and access to a vehicle.

Start Date: As soon as possible

Hours of Work: Full-time, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Holidays: 30 days per year

**Salary**: Commensurate with experience.
