Path Links is a networked Pathology service offering a wide range of diagnostic investigations on tissue, blood, and fluid samples. All Path Links laboratories are accredited to national United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) ISO 15189:2012 standards.

The Phlebotomist will join the Pathology Phlebotomy team. They provide services to Wards and run outpatient clinic, providing blood tests to Primary ans secondary care patients within the hospital.

Delegated work and duties will be arranged and performed under the direct and indirect supervision of a State Registered Biomedical Scientist (BMS) utilising Standard Operating Procedures. Staff will be required to undertake extensive ‘in-house’ training using training modules and competency assessments to achieve a level of knowledge equivalent to NVQ level II qualification.

The collection of blood samples from patients in both Outpatient (clinic) and Inpatient (ward) locations.
- Be aware of the specific requirements for some tests.
- Excellent communication skills are required due to the high level of patient contact.
- Attention to detail is required in the correct identification of patient, in line with the path Links labelling policy
- The use of effective communication skills with Pathology staff and service users.
