**About This Role**
The Medical Department Europe, Canada and Partner Markets (ECP) stands for integrity through unbiased, objective, and balanced medical-scientific dialogues on a peer-to-peer level with the medical community in general and key medical experts (physicians/scientists) in particular.
Under the leadership of the Head of Medical Europe, Canada & Partner Markets, the Head of Medical United Kingdom and Ireland (UKI) leads the UKI affiliate Medical Team.
In this role you will be the voice of the UKI Medical Team and will be a key member of the UKI Affiliate Leadership Team (ALT). As such, you will very closely work with all Biogen UKI team members, the UKI Affiliate LT, the ECP Medical LT and other key stakeholders in ECP and Global Biogen, effectively partnering cross-functionally, clearly and regularly communicating and reporting, overseeing projects, activities and corresponding budgets with a proactive, empowering leadership style, business acumen and highest ethical standards.
As a key member of the ECP Medical Leadership Team, you will actively participate in the development of the ECP medical strategy and overall ECP Medical governance.
**What You’ll Do**
- Actively contribute to the development and execution of the affiliate business critical priorities.
- Lead and develop the UKI Medical team
- Ensure excellence in medical-scientific leadership in all therapeutic areas by developing and implementing the affiliate Medical:
- Evidence generation strategy and plan
- Evidence dissemination strategy and plan (including medical-scientific education programs for HCPs)
- External stakeholders (medical community, primarily key medical experts) engagement strategy and plan
- Develop the above-mentioned strategies and programs (including patient support programs) in alignment and very close collaboration with the affiliate Commercial Organization, Value & Access Team, Regulatory Team, Clinical Research Team, the ECP Medical Team as well as other cross-functional partners.
- Manage the UKI Medical budget - achieving forecast accuracy of +/- 5 % vs. Medical AOP
- Ensure the highest ethical standards and guarantee that compliance SOPs are in place, effective and followed
- Ensure all materials and activities are compliant with Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) Code of Practice for the Pharmaceutical Industry
- Support regulatory strategies for registration of new products by providing local expertise, act as a local partner for R&D for pipeline and new products
**Who You Are**
You are a passionate and ethical medical professional with a strong understanding of the UK & Ireland healthcare system. You demonstrate strong business acumen, strategic thinking and excellent communication and leadership skills.

**Required Skills**:
- Medical-scientific background (MD, PharmD, PhD or MSc)
- A strong and proven background and expertise within Medical in the life-science industry
- Proven understanding of the life science industry and the UK&I health-care system
- Proven excellent leadership and people management skills. Ability to lead cross-functional teams in a highly complex matrixed structure
- Strategic thinking
- Business acumen
- Proven ability to develop and implement medical-scientific strategies and action plans (evidence generation, evidence dissemination - including the organization, management and implementation of HCP training and education programs)
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English and the ability to formulate medical-scientific narratives with precision. Additional languages are advantageous.

**Preferred Skills**
- Background in Neuroscience, Rare Diseases, Immunology and Psychiatry preferred
