Deputy Vice-chancellor

The University of Exeter is one of the world’s leading universities. We will achieve our vision of solving the challenges of today and tomorrow by working with our people to develop a community in which we all can thrive, be fulfilled and reach our potential. It is in this context that the University is now seeking to appoint a new Deputy Vice-Chancellor (People and Culture).

Reporting to the Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive, and a key member of the University Executive Board, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (People and Culture) will provide academic leadership and strategic oversight to the University’s Wellbeing, Inclusion and Culture agenda. Working with senior leaders and stakeholder groups across the University, the postholder will support the embedding of our ambition to celebrate diversity and be inclusive, fair and compassionate in everything we do. With the Executive Divisional Director of Human Resources, they will co-chair the newly established Wellbeing, Inclusion and Culture Committee and have the distinctive opportunity to lead this important agenda and position the University at the forefront in the UK higher education sector.

who is also able to operationalise ambitions and plans in a complex organisation and in partnership with colleagues and external stakeholders. They will demonstrate alignment with the University’s values and the ability to build strong networks internally and externally.
