About us
Driven climate tech company set to revolutionise a new vertical of climate adaptation software by changing the way the world manages assets, properties, and infrastructure.
About the role
We combine observation data and model outputs at local and global scales to project the physical impacts of climate change, such as floods, storms, droughts, etc.
We’re seeking an enthusiastic geologist to quantify climate change-related risks from shifting earth. You’ll help lead the development of modelling techniques for subsidence and landslides and derive new insights into climate impacts with a superstar team.
The impact you’ll own
- Developing statistical, ML and physics-based modelling techniques related to geophysical hazards and their relation to climate change.
- Identification and standardisation of observational and modelling data required for development.
- Testing, validation, and benchmarking of the results.
- Documentation AND presenting modelling activity
- Collaboration with climate modelling team members to develop comprehensive projections of future climate change-related geological risks.
- Participation in product demos with enterprise-grade clients.
- Research of geospatial trends and development of innovative methods.
What you bring
- Relevant experience in geology, geophysics, geospatial modelling, or remote sensing.
- Experience leveraging scientific computing/machine learning, ideally with Python in a cloud environment.
- Awareness of emerging trends in geo-hazards research and technologies.
- Ability to explain complex concepts to a non-technical audience.
- Hands-on and can-do attitude
- Passion, energy, and wit.
What makes you stand out
- Degree in areas related to geophysics, geology, physical geography, or climate change impacts.
- Previous experience in modelling climate-related physical risks around subsidence, landslides, and coastal erosion.
- Understanding of remote sensing and data science methods for dealing with large datasets, or incomplete data.
- Understanding of the current climate change space and interest in future trends.
- Experience working in an industry-based science role or similar environment.
- Recognised accomplishments in the world of geospatial analytics.
