**Senior Planner - Maldon District Council**

Permanent, Full Time

£31,705 - £36,286 per annum

Location: Maldon

**Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting Maldon District Council to recruit a Senior Planner.**

**Exact work location**:Expectation to attend the Maldon District Council offices at least twice a week for collaborative working, business needs, training, and staff development. Ability to make adhoc site visits within the Maldon District is also a requirement of this role.

**Salary**:£31,705 - £36,286 per annum, pro rata if part time.

**Contract type**:Permanent full time (37 hours per week)

**The Opportunity**

The Council are keen to develop its staff providing support through formal and informal training, coaching and regular case conferences. These roles require working as part of a collaborative team.

**Accountabilities**

A methodical and through approach to routine tasks and when dealing with detailed work are essential to success in these roles as well as the ability to use own initiative, meet short deadlines and commitment to the provision of a high-quality service to customers.

Effective time management, prioritisation skills and communication skills that make you stand out from the crowd are vital. To fulfil these roles, you must be able to give both informal and formal presentations, be confident in your communication channels with key stakeholders across the organisation and its customers.

**The Experience You Will Bring**

We are looking for people who are self-motivated and can work under pressure with mínimal supervision. A positive, solution-finding approach is vital to work whilst achieving targets and meeting deadlines whilst being able to demonstrate being a team player. Preferably a current member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).

**Level 1 requirements**:

- Working towards or holds a relevant qualification in Town Planning.
- Some experience working within Planning or Development Management.
