**Job Overview**:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Paint Labourer to join our team. The primary responsibilities of this role include preparing parts for painting through tasks such as shot blasting, rubbing down, loading and unloading the wash plant. Additionally, the Paint Labourer will be responsible for sorting out painted parts back into kits and ensuring strict compliance with health and safety guidelines.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Surface Preparation:
- Perform shot blasting and rubbing down of parts to ensure a smooth and clean surface for painting.
- Inspect parts for imperfections or irregularities and address them appropriately before the painting process.
- Loading and Unloading:
- Safely load parts onto the wash plant for painting, ensuring proper placement and adherence to established procedures.
- Unload painted parts, taking care to avoid damage or contamination.
- Painting Process Assistance:
- Collaborate with the paint team to maintain an efficient workflow and meet production deadlines.
- Kit Assembly:
- Organize and sort painted parts back into kits, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with other team members to streamline the assembly process and maintain inventory control.
- Health and Safety Compliance:
- Adhere strictly to health and safety guidelines and protocols.
- Report any safety concerns, incidents, or near misses promptly to supervisors.
**Requirements**:
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Knowledge of shot blasting and rubbing down techniques.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Familiarity with industrial painting equipment and machinery.
- Knowledge of basic maintenance procedures for tools and equipment.
**Working Conditions**:
The role involves working in an industrial environment, with exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures. The Paint Labourer should be comfortable working with industrial equipment and machinery, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
**Salary & Benefits**:
- Salary: £14 per hour
- 31 days holiday, including statutory days.
- Auto-enrolment pension scheme.
**Schedule**:
- Shift 39hr per week
- Mon-Thu 0730-1630 (30 min unpaid lunch)
- Friday 0730-1230
**Salary**: £13.00-£14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 39 per week
