Job Introduction
We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced safety professional to join our Health and Safety team as a Retail Health and Safety Business Partner.

This role will be the point of contact for Regional, Area and Store Managers across stores nationwide and provide relevant advice and direction that ensures our stores are a safe place for both colleagues and customers. You will be based in our Liverpool Head Office, however travel to store locations will be required to provide support in the event of an accident or emergency.

We are looking for someone who will be proactive in continuously improving safety standards and influence positive changes in behaviour by coaching and improving knowledge about heath and safety whilst ensuring best value.

Job Overview
- Implement the safety policy and standards in a way that defines how we operate in stores nationwide
- Business partner with Field and Store Managers, providing feedback, information and advice
- Reduce the rate of accidents and injuries to colleagues and customers through simplification of our compliance processes and enabling our Field and Store Managers to understand and take accountability for the safety risk management process in their area
- Ensure our operational policies and procedures are simple, effective and fit for purpose
- Ensure that monitoring and reporting on compliance with policy requirements and standards occurs and remains relevant
- Ensure that an appropriate response is available in the event of an accident conducting a thorough and independent accident investigation
- Liaise with enforcing authorities to ensure we remain compliant in food and product safety legislation

Minimum Criteria To Apply
- Post graduate qualification at minimum diploma level in health & safety / NEBOSH diploma
- Professional qualification, ideally CMIOSH or working towards
- Ideally 5+ years’ experience in related industry
- Experienced in dealing with the enforcing authorities including Trading Standards and Environmental Health
- Experienced in strategic risk management
- Highly effective influencing skills and personal impact.
- Accident investigation techniques and ability to make decisions independently in ambiguous situations

Package
- £54,000 - £57,000 - dependent on experience
- 37.50 hours per week
- 5.6 weeks paid holiday per year including bank and public holiday allowance rising to 6.6 weeks upon 5 years' service
