**Job Title**: Play Worker

**Job Summary**:
The post holder will be required to provide structured and stimulating play and development activities for children between the ages of 3 and 11 years of age, in a happy, safe and secure environment within the guidelines set by the National Standards for Out of School Care including safeguarding and the wellbeing of children.

**Responsible to**:
Manager.

**Duties and responsibilities**:
Supervise children and ensure their safety and well being.

Serve drinks and snacks.

Set out and put away toys ensuring safe storage.

Deliver a range of stimulating activities, indoor and outdoor, relevant to the age of the children.

Demonstrate your ability to work and communicate effectively with other team members, children and their parents/carers.

Provide professional opinions, both verbally and written, in matters relating to the children, to others where the need for shared information may arise.

Work in partnership with parents/carers and allied professionals to ensure full the integrations of children that may have special needs.

Understand and implement the policies and procedures of the setting.

Attend staff meetings and training sessions either during normal working hours or at other reasonable times where considered necessary.

Complete childrens’ Observations/Profiles as directed by the Manager following EYFS guidelines.

Complete your personal monthly timesheets.

Undertake appropriate training and development as required.

To undertake other duties as directed by the Manager.

**SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF SERVICE**

Must undertake the duties and responsibilities of the post with due regard for the Equal Opportunities Policy, and all other setting Policies and Procedures.

All start times must be achieved by all staff.

The post holder must be physically fit and alert enough to supervise and take responsibility for groups of children and young people.

Must ensure that you are made aware of all incidents and accidents and be in a position to brief parents/carers accordingly.

Applicant must be adaptable to change and able to assist with everyday tasks when required.

The successful applicant must be able to move toys and equipment, both when setting up and packing away to the garage at the start and end of each week.

**NB: This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Post holder must be prepared to disclose any convictions they may have and any orders which may have been made against them.**

**Post holder must be prepared to undertake an enhanced DBS Disclosure.**
