About the role
The Local Authority has clearly defined roles and responsibilities in relation to children and young people aged 0-25 years with Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). The post holder will manage the efficient operation of a caseload to ensure the delivery of high quality, fully integrated services to children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities and their families in line with the requirements of national legislation and guidance. The post holder will be part of a team of Casework Officers, each responsible for a large caseload in a geographical patch of Cambridgeshire.

What will you be doing?
The post holder will provide effective monitoring and review of Education, Health and Care Plans, ensuring the best outcomes for children and young people and the effective use of resources in settings, schools and colleges both in and out of county. The post holder will draft Initial Education Health and Care Plans and will amend EHCPs from Annual Review. The post holder will be required to explain the legislative responsibilities of the Local Authority in issuing EHC plans and making provision to meet the needs of children and young people with SEND to families and a range of professionals from education settings, health and social care.
