Journalist

We are currently recruiting for a full-time Journalist to work across our coach and bus portfolio.

This is a rare opportunity to join our editorial team, working across our market-leading business-to-business publications (digital and print) in the coach and bus sector.

We produce a monthly **routeone** magazine, a weekly news digest, Awards brochures, show guides and various supplements throughout the year with a growing online news and feature presence. We are a small, friendly editorial team that aims to deliver the best content in a competitive marketplace and delight our readers, who are the coach and bus industry’s decisionmakers.

Here in the UK we organise 18 highly successful trade shows, all of them leaders in their sectors, as well as publishing several market leading trade magazines. **THE ROLE**
- Co-ordinating and delivering commercial editorial content. Monitoring industry press releases and rewriting for publication.
- Researching and checking facts from press releases and obtaining additional quotes as necessary.
- Liaising with advertisers and chasing copy to be included in commercial features. Editing and re-writing copy as necessary.
- Undertaking visits to suppliers and operators and producing informative features and articles.
- Writing news, features and other articles in **routeone** and other publications, and prepare these for print publication and/or website uploading, as required.
- Establishing a profile within the sectors and attending key events, shows and conferences.
- Delivering a smooth and effective copy flow.
- Carrying out digital page proofreading and approval for **routeone** and related publications.
- Liaising with sales teams and ensuring that all available leads are passed on and relevant commercial information is shared.
- Contributing to the development of profitable commercial opportunities and supplements for products in digital as well as traditional formats.
- Ensuring all editorial content is categorised and tagged in accordance with website structure and requirements.
- Participating in the implementation of new editorially led digital products.
- Identifying and sourcing additional editorial content for digital platforms.

**OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE**
- 1 year’s experience within a similar role, trade publications preferred but not essential.
- Experienced in gathering, writing and editing news.
- Excellent grasp of written English and a passion for writing accurately and without mistakes.
- Flawless grammar and punctuation.
- Ability to produce high-quality news and analysis stories.
- Ability to write quickly and accurately to deadlines.
- A team player - You will be adaptable, dependable and flexible.
