Cafe Assistant

22.5 hours, weekend work with one weekday shift.

Wage is in accordance with National Living Wage:
23+ : £10.42

21-22: £10.18

18-20: £7.49

Under 18: £5.28

Your role will be in the Cafe of our busy and vibrant play centre. Assisting in the food preparation, serving drinks and keeping a tidy and clean work area.

**Responsibilities**:

- Operating barista coffee machine (full training will be provided)
- Serving hot and cold drinks
- Food preparation e.g. sandwiches, paninis, fish fingers/chicken nugget meals
- Preparing food and drink for parties and events
- Maintaining the cleanliness of your kitchen domain
- Completing food hygiene paperwork, with the aid of the manager.
- Using the till

Who we are looking for:

- Experience as a barista or cafe and basic food service work
- Valid food safety and hygiene certificate level 2 (preferred)
- Able to take responsibility of cleanliness of the kitchen domain.
- Has an understanding of taking food checks (fridge temperatures, food labelling) and completing the hygiene paperwork (training for this provided by the manager)
- Committed and a team player
- Reliable
- Quick on their feet and a fast learner
- Lives locally and has access to reliable transport for work
- In good health, as shifts will be on foot for periods at a time

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 22.5 per week

**Salary**: £10.42 per hour
