**General Housekeepers Assistant**

1. General cleaning duties in the house under the supervision of the housekeeper and working with a team of three in housekeeping.

2.Cleaning will include vacuuming, dusting, polishing in the main part of the house open to the public. Also chamber maid duties for 3 rooms let out to guests. This will include making beds, cleaning rooms, bathrooms and toilets to a very high standard.

3. Welcoming guests to Traquair and helping to make and serve breakfasts to guests in the morning. Welcoming guests to their rooms if required in afternoon or evening.

4. Occasional evening duties including helping at small dinners and weddings.

Skills Required: You should have some experience in the relevant tasks, have a very good level of English, enjoy meeting and dealing with the public be trustworthy, responsible and enthusiastic. Experience in hospitality is an advantage.

Contract Offered: 11th April April - 31st October

Pay: £360.00 per week (5 days) including accommodation in flat in the main house

The accommodation is a self contained flat in the main house. This is for use by employees only. No visitors staying overnight permitted. No smoking.

You will be expected to work 40 hours per week which will usually include weekends.

Traquair is in the Scottish Borders about 1 hour South of Edinburgh. It is a rural location and 15 minutes walk from local village of Innerleithen. Buses run regularly to Peebles, 7 miles and Edinburgh.

The flat is very spacious and is used by the owner’s family in the winter months. There is a large shared kitchen, living room, bedrooms and bathroom. Linen/towels provided.

Our business has Good to Go accreditation and we take our cleaning and hygene procedures very seriously. You will be provided with all PPE as required. Accommodation is for yourself only in a flat in the house.
