Hgv 1 Driver

We are recruiting a HGV class 1 tramper driver for our fridge contract. We are a small family haulage company based in Pontypool. You will be assigned your own truck and trailer, and you will be expected to keep both the truck and trailer spotlessly clean, both inside and out.

This is for a Monday to Friday tramping position, with occasional Saturday work if you want it.

No previous fridge experience is necessary, as full training will be provided.

We run a fleet of DAF XF tractor units all with fridges, microwaves, alloy wheels, light bars etc.

You need to be polite, clean and presentable, speak good English, and have an excellent knowledge of drivers hours and WTD regulations. You will be required to fill in and maintain all paperwork to a high standard. You need a valid driver CPC qualification and digital tachograph card.

After completion of a 3 month probationary period, you will be eligible for company pension and uniform.

£160 per day paid weekly in arrears.
£26 per night out.

The majority of the start times will be late in the morning or afternoon. The shift length is usually 8-12 hours. **This means that on your last shift you may not get home until late, e.g 8pm-11pm.**

Minimum of two years class 1 tramping experience is absolutely essential. You must be over the age of 30 for insurance purposes.
