**Position**: Complex Carer

**Salary**: £20 - £25 per hour

About the Role:
Key Responsibilities:

- **Personal Care**: Assist clients with daily activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- **Tracheostomy Care**: Perform routine and emergency tracheostomy care, including suctioning, cleaning, and monitoring.
- **PEG Feeding**: Administer enteral nutrition via PEG tubes, manage feeding schedules, and monitor for any complications.
- **Health Monitoring**: Regularly monitor and record vital signs, observing and reporting any changes in health status.
- **Medication Administration**: Assist with or administer prescribed medications, ensuring accurate dosage and timing.
- **Emotional Support**: Provide compassionate emotional support to clients, helping to enhance their quality of life.
- **Documentation**: Maintain detailed and accurate records of care provided, including any changes in the client’s condition.
- **Family Liaison**: Communicate effectively with family members, providing updates and guidance on care routines.
- **Compliance**: Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, ensuring a safe environment for clients and staff.

Qualifications and Skills:

- **Experience**: Previous experience in a care role, particularly with complex care needs, is highly desirable.
- **Tracheostomy Training**: Ideally trained in tracheostomy care.
- **PEG Feeding Training**: Ideally trained in PEG feeding management.
- **Compassionate Care**: Demonstrated ability to provide empathetic and respectful care to individuals with diverse needs.
- **Communication Skills**: Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of interacting with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- **Reliability**: Punctual and reliable with a strong work ethic and commitment to high-quality care.
- **Problem-Solving Skills**: Ability to quickly and effectively address any issues or emergencies that arise.
- **Flexibility**: Willingness to work long 12-hour shifts, including nights and weekends if required.
- **Basic Life Support (BLS)**: Current certification in BLS or willingness to obtain certification.
