Immigration Enforcement (IE) is the operational arm of the Home Office responsible for reducing the size of the illegal population and the harm it causes. Our frontline ICE team based in Conwy, North Wales, covers the police force areas of North Wales and includes offices in Cardiff and Swansea.

**The role**

As an Immigration Officer, you’ll be part of a team of officers looking to detect and apprehend persons unlawfully present in the UK. On a day-to-day basis, you’ll arrest and detain immigration offenders to protect and safeguard the vulnerable, search property and persons, preserving and recording evidence, gather intelligence, complete risk assessments and prepare operational orders. You’ll engage with communities and partner agencies across the government and conduct thorough briefings and de-briefings for enforcement visits.

You’ll need a full UK driving licence as you’ll be driving official vehicles.

Your initial training and mentoring, which will be for a period of up to 12 months, may require travel and overnight stays to locations across South Wales.

**Who we’re looking for**

We’re looking for people who have the ability to work in a fast paced, demanding and pressurised environment. You’ll need strong communication skills and be able to prioritise conflicting priorities, as well as be a flexible and creative problem solver.

It’s essential that you are physically fit and are able to commit to working a range of shifts, sometimes at short notice - including early and late starts, nightshifts and weekends, as well as some public holidays.

**Benefits**

Salaries start at £28,000. You’ll benefit from a Civil Service Pension with employer contribution of 27% and a range of other brilliant benefits including 25 days annual leave on appointment, rising with service. You will also have access to learning and development tailored to your role.
