Job Introduction

Financial Assessment and Benefits Officers (FABOs) carry out financial assessments for residential and non-residential services, that have been assessed and arranged for by Northumberland County Council. FABOs provide comprehensive benefits advice to service users or their financial agents.

The team consists of 12 FABOs managed by the Finance Section Manager. The team is very busy with high volume of work. As FABOs are responsible for managing their own workloads, prioritising and organisational skills are essential for this role. The team is based at two sites (Alnwick and Blyth).

The role is permanent, working 37 hours per week and allows for flexible working with some constraints e.g office cover/duty.

**Salary**: Band 7 (£33,024 to £36,648)

**Requirements of the role**:

- A valid UK Driving Licence is required as home visits may be required.
- A DBS check will be completed.
