iO Associates have partnered with a global defence company, who are recruiting for a **Procurement Officer**, whose UK subsidiary, based in Bristol, and are on a major growth trajectory as they begin to fully establish themselves in the UK.

This role is hybrid but would require you to be more onsite for the first 6 months, as this is a brand new site and gives you a chance to settle into the business.

The Procurement Officer will be responsible for the effective creation, validation, and processing of Purchase Orders from demand/requisition through engagement with suppliers, securing quotations, agreeing terms and conditions in conjunction with Commercial/Programmes/Technical/Quality/Production Operations as required, securing order acceptance, progressing chasing and tracking of on time/to quality delivery performance.
Responsibilities include:

- Working within the companies ERP system, management of the individual purchasing requirements from demand to receipt
- Work collaboratively with other departments, such as programmes, bids, engineering, production operations and quality.
- Support to Supplier assessment and approvals
- Supplier selection eg tenders, price lists/price breaks, frameworks, review of quotations
- Supplier performance monitoring, expediting, problem resolution
- Procurement planning
- Continuous improvement
- Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers.
- Supplier relationship management
- Market awareness
- Identification of alternate or second sources, and monitoring of supplier risk and financial robustness
- Monitoring of long lead items.
- Obsolescence monitoring and reporting.
- Flow down and confirmation of environmental regulations such as REACH, COSHH, WEEE and safety including storage and handling.
