What you’ll be doing
Reporting to the Managing Director you’ll be a driving force for editorial excellence across the division. You will work on a variety of fiction and non-fiction titles, preparing manuscripts for production after they are handed over by the editors. As a vital member of the team you will have a deep and active knowledge of our publication schedule and overview of the junior editors who work across buy-in titles, second formats and reissues. This is a non-commissioning role.

Who we are looking for
This is an exciting opportunity to join Dialogue, a division of Hachette UK and work on a huge variety of non-fiction and fiction titles across the imprints.

Responsibilities include:

- Having a clear overview of titles published by the division to ensure they are published to critical path
- Working independently to project manage complex titles
- Communicating progress and providing information to other departments on projects
- Working closely with authors
- Briefing and managing freelancers for copy-editing, proofreading and indexing
- Working within budget and to critical path
- Preparing illustration briefs and plate section selections
- Checking and clearing permissions
- Support team in introducing Alt-Text to all projects
- Chasing proofs, designs etc and problem-solving to maintain schedules
- Copy-editing and proofreading material for the Division
