Workshop Foreman
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical fitter who is looking to take the next step into a more senior management position. This is for a great customer of ours, who are a leading supplier of plant hire equipment.
As part of a fast-paced, busy depot, the Workshop Foreman is responsible for the efficient running of the workshop including maximising the availability of plant for hire, allocating/monitoring the workload of the depot fitters, ensuring that all equipmentis maintained and kept in working order at all times. As an Workshop Foreman, you will be responsible for supporting and developing your team to maximise performance whilst ensuring the health and safety of all employees within the depot workshop.
Your duties will include:

- Supporting the Operations Manager in allocating the work to the workshop fitters.
- Ensuring the presentation, testing and maintenance of equipment, plant and infrastructure is sustained, through regular quality spot check/inspections.
- Ordering sufficient level of stock for the equipment to be maintained and being accountable for the stores.
- Managing bi-annual stock takes ensuring they are completed efficiently.
- Develop and support the existing team whilst ensuring new talent is progressing through the business.
- Supporting the Workshop Fitters with servicing as and when required
- Supporting the Operation Manager with special projects.
- Develop and encourage a culture of continuous improvement across. Depot with clear objectives outlined and deliverable dates for the team.
- Ensure all H&S and quality aspects are being adhered to.
- Conducting Toolbox Talks as appropriate.
- Continue to drive a positive culture within the organisation and deliver succession plans to create high performing teams.
- Positively engage and contribute with all depots and management team.
- Any other tasks as required by the Operations Manager.
- Proven experience working as in a senior plant mechanic/fitter role with a relevant mechanical qualification or time served.
- Experience with diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to develop and manage teams within a fast-paced workshop environment.
- Industry recognised mechanical plant qualification is essential.
- Leads by example.
- Good IT skills and working knowledge of all Microsoft packages.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
- Able to work well under pressure and manage a busy workload.
Salary and package:
£40000 p.a. depending on experience.
Company Vehicle with personal use.
Hours: Monday to Friday 0800-1700 inclusive with a lunch break of one hour.
Pension: Auto-enrolment
Annual leave: 20 days + bank holidays
