We are looking for a new consultant to join our team in central North Wales.
This is a hugely exciting time within the department due to the increasing high acuity obstetrics being practiced on a sub-regional basis at the unit. This is an ideal opportunity for an enthusiastic and forward thinking individual to join our team and help develop the future O&G services within North Wales
The role holder must have a certificate of completion of training (CCT) and must be registered on the GMC specialist register or be within six months of obtaining CCT at the time of interview. The successful applicant must be able to scan independently and prepared to teach, train and supervise colleagues, SAS doctors and trainees in developing their competencies in ultrasound. The post is non-resident on call.
The role holder would be responsible for providing professional leadership in Obstetrics and Gynaecology care, promoting the development of evidence based clinical practice and guidelines, and ensuring the continued introduction of the relevant elements of clinical governance in the service.
The ability to work within a multidisciplinary team is essential. Applicants must be both flexible in their approach and be ready to meet the challenges presented by the evolving health service changes in North Wales. The role holder will be expected to participate in all aspects of obstetric work including antenatal clinics, obstetric / Fetal Medicine scanning and scan training, elective caesarean lists and daytime obstetrics on call, in addition to participating on the general non-resident on call rota. However, the exact job plan is negotiable depending on skills and personal circumstances. If the role holder would prefer to cover gynaecology as well as obstetrics this can be discussed.
