To work as part of the outpatients department team assisting in the delivery of high quality service delivery under the supervision of qualified staff.

To support all staff with day to day running of services undertaken at Stroud and Vale Hospitals. You will need to undertake key roles identified by Manager which will assist in smooth running of Dept.

Clinical Observations including ability to respond to unforeseen issues or when emergency occurs

Good IT skills and written documentation and sharing information appropriately with Trust Policies

Professional Attitude, acting best interests of Service users

Respecting and Valuing others openness in communication

Connecting with others and working across boundaries

Owning are actions, ensuring best outcomes realising your full potential

Ability to work within a Team with good interpersonal skills

Ability to learn new skills for specific disciplines to support smooth running of Activities.

Good listening skills with Patients and staff and other service users.

Undertake Link Worker training and act as a Link worker for a specific role (e.g. Basic Life Support, Infection Control, Fire etc.)

Participate in the smooth running of clinics within OPD department on day to day basis

Responsible for working with colleagues, mangers to provide a safe and welcoming environment for patients and Staff

To adhere to Trust policies and procedures and employment Law

Communication effectively within team, with our patients and wider service users

To maintain good documented records, electronically or written, to ensure safety of information and storage as covered in Trust Polices

To use equipment safety and appropriately once training completed.

To be trained in the trust and departmental Moving and Handling requirements

To have awareness of waste management, disposal universal precautions health and safety, risk assessments, COSHH and infection control policies

Undertake baseline observations., Venepuncture any other investigations for specialities, and collection ,transporting of specimens once trained.

To complete generic and departmental competencies after training.

To work in other departments within the hospital as staffing levels dictate.

To work across other sites in GHCNHST when required.

As a Health Care Assistant/ Support Worker you will be responsible for participating and assisting in the delivery of care / services to patients and service users as part of a Mental Health and Social Care Health Service. Health Care Assistant, Social Care Workers and other Healthcare Support Workers employed by the Trust are required to follow the guidance set out in Code of Conduct for Health Care Assistants/ Health Care Support Workers to provide safe and compassionate care of a high standard, and to challenge others who are not.
You will receive direct supervision and partake in reflective practice / training on a regular basis and be required to meet the Care Certificate standards. All successful applicants will also have the opportunity to discuss the prospect of undertaking a Level 3 Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship alongside their substantive post. This apprenticeship would include the Level 3 Diploma in Clinical Healthcare
