The education department is looking for a specialist teacher who will bring relevant skills and experience to enhance an established department. The main purpose of the role is to teach patients Numeracy, Literacy and ICT. As a senior member of the team you will be expected to have experience in delivering education to people with learning difficulties, experience of teaching learners with SEN is also required. The role requires some mentoring of staff, auditing collected data and curriculum development.
The successful applicant will be expected to plan schemes of work, support other education staff, observe lessons, audit internal data, carry a teaching caseload and deputise in the absence of the Patients’ Education & Library Manager. You must be an excellent communicator as you will be expected to communicate with patients, staff and various agencies. We are looking for someone who will always treat patients with dignity and respect.
The role is part-time and will be a job share with one other person.

Nationally recognised teaching qualification, evidence of ongoing and updated professional development, a thorough knowledge and understanding of current educational initiatives.
You must have the ability to teach adults with specific learning needs and posses an understanding of the issues relating to teaching students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities
