**Consultant Paediatrician**

NHS Lanarkshire is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team who would relish the opportunities and challenges of delivering high quality care across Lanarkshire in both the community and child protection service. This is a replacement post following retirements. We see this as an opportunity to consolidate existing services and to continue to develop as a centre of excellence in secondary paediatric care. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team who would relish the opportunities and challenges of delivering high quality care across Lanarkshire in both acute and community settings.

An attending week system is in place and it is envisaged that depending on the interests and experience of the new post holder that they will contribute to this depending on the role accepted and to on call in General Paediatrics and/or a commitment to the Child Protection rota, depending on recruitment. A specialty interest to complement the service is encouraged for example renal, neurology, endocrine, allergy, visual impairment, or child protection would be encouraged.

The role will involve approximately 3 clinics per week divided between acute and community paediatrics. Community Child health clinics will involve seeing children with common problems such neurodevelopmental disorders, sleep and developmental delay. Experience in child protection is required.

General paediatricians will have the opportunity to be involved in further development of Paediatric services in Lanarkshire in line with local service requirement and the National agenda and in shaping the vision for Lanarkshire Paediatrics in the future. Services are supported by specialist services, and multidisciplinary clinics with shared care arrangements for Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Endocrinology, Rheumatology, Genetics, Urology, Cardiology, and Cystic Fibrosis. Consultant Surgeons from Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Glasgow also run regular surgical outpatient clinics and day case lists in Wishaw General and work closely with local anesthetic and paediatric staff.

Applicants should have full GMC registration and a licence to practise, membership of the RCPCPH, be registered with the GMC and on the specialist register or be within 6 months of the anticipated award of a CCT or CESR (CP) at the time of interview.
