**Job Title**: Domestic Assistant

Job Summary: A domestic assistant is responsible for providing cleaning and housekeeping services in residential properties within the UK. This role involves maintaining a clean and organized living environment, ensuring the comfort and well-being of the residents. The domestic assistant performs a variety of tasks, including cleaning rooms, doing laundry, tidying up, and assisting with other household chores as required. The position requires attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Cleaning Duties: Perform regular cleaning tasks such as dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping floors, and cleaning surfaces throughout the house. This includes bedrooms, bathrooms, living areas, kitchens, and other designated spaces.

Laundry and Ironing: Sort, wash, dry, and fold laundry items according to instructions. Handle delicate fabrics with care and iron clothing and linens as needed.

Tidying Up: Maintain order and cleanliness by organizing belongings, arranging furniture, and ensuring that rooms are well-presented.

Dishwashing and Kitchen Maintenance: Clean dishes, utensils, and kitchen appliances. Keep the kitchen area tidy and assist with basic food preparation if required.

Bed Making: Change bed linens, make beds, and ensure the overall cleanliness and freshness of sleeping areas.

Waste Management: Collect and dispose of rubbish and recycling materials according to the designated procedures.

Assisting with Additional Tasks: Provide general assistance with other household chores, including organizing storage areas, watering plants, running errands, and occasional pet care.

Communication and Reporting: Maintain effective communication with the residents and/or the employer to address any specific needs or preferences. Report any maintenance issues or repairs required in a timely manner.

Adherence to Health and Safety Standards: Follow established health and safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment and minimize the risk of accidents or injuries.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Previous experience in domestic cleaning or housekeeping is beneficial but not essential.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain a high standard of cleanliness.
- Good physical stamina and ability to perform tasks that involve bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
- Excellent time management skills to ensure efficient completion of tasks within designated timeframes.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Respect for privacy and confidentiality in a residential setting.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety procedures related to cleaning and housekeeping.

Part-time hours: 35-40 per week

**Salary**: £8.01-£13.32 per hour
