Bristol, United Kingdom Bristol City Council Full time

**Full Time, Permanent**

We have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and experienced Public Health Specialist to join our Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence team within Communities and Public Health at Bristol City Council.

**What will I be doing?**

We expect this post to be primarily focused on supporting our work on domestic abuse and sexual violence, including via our commissioned services, and supporting development of our DASV strategy delivery plan.

This is a generic post and work areas can change in line with service requirements and the skills and experience of postholders. Therefore, we are looking for someone with a broad range of public health skills, interests and experience, as well as an interest in the identified areas.

**What do I need to have?**

You will have a degree qualification or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role. You will have relevant public health experience, knowledge and skills, including in relation to domestic abuse and sexual violence.

You will have strong programme and project management skills and an understanding of commissioning services to improve outcomes. You will be able to critically appraise public health evidence, and you will understand basic epidemiological theory and methods for assessing health needs.

**Why Bristol City Council?**

At Bristol City Council, we go that extra mile for our people; we offer a work environment which is fast moving and supportive, giving you the chance to use your skills and develop new ones within a high-profile organisation. For the majority of our roles hybrid working arrangements are available, giving teams the opportunity to work in a way that suits them, balancing service need and individual choice - mixing both home and office working.

Join us and you’ll receive an excellent rewards package including flexible working and flexitime, membership of the Local Government Pension scheme, and a generous annual leave allowance. In addition, you’ll be working in a supportive environment where you’ll have the chance to make Bristol a better place and contribute to its future.

**How do I apply?**
- At Bristol City Council, we value having a workforce as diverse as the city we serve. We therefore welcome, develop and promote people from all sections of the community. Appointments will be made on merit._
