**About this client/child**:
Harry (13) is very endearing He lives with his mum and dad and his big sister and little brother. They will come through to see what he’s up to, most days, which makes him very happy He has a fab bedroom and ensuite bathroom on the ground floor of his home.This is his own space, full of his favourite toys, iPad and TV for watching the films he loves. He has profound disabilities so requires support in all areas of life. He uses a wheelchair and communicates using non-verbal cues such as facial expressions; hewill look away for 'no’ and smile for 'yes’ All his medication and nutrition are given via a PEG, and a hoist is used for all transfers.

**Overview of role**:
A typical shift begins at 4 pm when Harry has just arrived from school. He will need a good stretch from being at school all day, so he is hoisted onto his bed; he does also have a mat in his room. Harry’s feeds are already made up, but you will be requiredto flush out his PEG before setting up his teatime feed. One of Harry’s other favourite pastimes is being read to, so if you also love to read then Harry will very happily listen to lots of stories; a particular favourite being Roald Dahl. He has a wickedsense of humour; no wonder with that being his choice of books There may be physio exercises to be carried out before you get Harry ready for bed. His nighttime support workers arrive at 8.30 pm so the handover will be with dad. As bank support, you may beasked if you can work within these out-of-school hours: Monday to Friday 4.00 pm to 8.00 pm. Weekends and school holidays: 8.30 am to 8.30 pm. The rates of pay are £15.00 weeksdays to £17.00 gross per hour weekends.

This role will suit a support worker, not only with a good understanding of supporting a young person with complex needs but with a compassionate, thoughtful, nurturing nature. You also need to be lighthearted in your approach. Harry loves to be entertained
