**Salary**: £10.18 - £12.00 Per Hour

**Reports to**:PBS Senior in Charge

**Lucas Love Healthcare are working alongside a group of Residential Homes to recruit a Positive Behaviour Support Worker to join their team in Magherafelt.**

**JOB PURPOSE**:

- Assisting with personal care
- Supporting with any distressed behaviours that may pose risk to self and others (training will be provided)
- Assisting with daily living aspects that will include preparing meals and ensuring the environment is kept clean and maintained
- Supporting individual with meaningful activities both in house and within the community
- Complete and maintain relevant documentation to a regulatory standard
- Support with healthcare appointments/ visits
- Working closely with family and healthcare professionals
- Encourage and support the development of personal skills, hobbies and interests

**SKILLS AND ABILITIES**:

- Resilient whilst working in a complex environment.
- Positive and continue to provide high levels of support following an incident
- Team player - positively contributes towards the team
- Practical Approach - logical with a practical common sense approach to situations. Able to support others to carry out domestic tasks.
- Communication - basic numeracy, literacy and admin skills.
- Good listening skills, communicates effectively (Inc. written)
- Planning - manages own workload and priorities. Thinks outside of the box
- Confidential -keeps information about the people we support, colleagues and the company confidential

**ESSENTIAL CRITERIA**:

- Previous experience as a Support Worker (Minimum 1 Year)
- Be prepared to work flexibly across a variety of shifts, including weekends, bank holidays, sleep-ins etc. Be prepared to attend required training either by ‘eLearning or attending courses

**DESIRABLE CRITERIA**:

- Health and Social Care Level 2
- Experience of Positive Behaviour Support
- Experience of working with people who present with complex needs
- Experience of working with people with significant communication difficulties
- To understand and have a working knowledge of Autistic Spectrum Conditions, Learning Disabilities and Mental Health conditions and follow individual specific approaches and strategies.
