**Position overview**:
Your main focus is to establish and direct the accounting policies and procedures for the EMEA region. Being part of the Finance Leadership Team, you act as a commercially-minded business partner to senior leaders.

**Key responsibility areas include**:
Accounting & Reporting
- Overall accountability and responsibility for all of the accounting functions of the division, ensuring alignment and adherence with company accounting policies to ensure the reported results of the business are true and accurate.
- Review and sign off of all division reporting to support the US GAAP filing requirements
- Act as the key business contact between Global Business Services and the division for outsourced transactional processes and play a strategic role in continuous improvement, standardization and optimization of work outsourced
- Represent the division on the Global Accounting Center of Expertise (COE) leadership team to strive toward global standardization of systems, processes and procedures

Regulatory Compliance
- Lead the SOX program for the division, acting as the key conduit between the business and both External & Internal Audit
- Lead the COE organisation through the execution and delivery of all required external regulatory requirements
- Act as the key conduit between the business and Internal Audit, taking an active role in the Internal Audit program and reviewing outputs/recommendations and carrying out broader regional impact assessments
- Be a steward for adherence to corporate policies through building key relationships in the business, identifying areas of risk and implementing plans to mitigate them
- Act as approver for complex and high value transactions/agreements, ensuring technical accounting considerations are applied upon review alongside policy adherence
- Lead and support the Division COE organisation on all technical accounting matters
- Be a strategic partner to the divisional finance leadership team (VP Finance)
- Build strong relationships with key functional leads (Legal/Sourcing/Commercial)

**Experience and skills required**:

- Previous experience in a finance control-related role in a multinational manufacturing/industrial corporation
- Technically astute with accounting rules and regulations
- Design of internal controls to prevent or detect accounting errors
- Strong communication skills across all organisational levels
- Professional Finance qualification or relevant degree
- Knowledge of US GAAP and SOX
- Ability to form strong partnerships across different functions and regions
- Fluency in written and spoken English
