**Role: Head of Geography with TLR**

Are you an experienced and visionary Geography teacher ready to take on a leadership role? We are delighted to announce a fantastic opportunity for a Head of Geography to join a dynamic secondary school in London, starting in January 2024.

This is a key position within the school leadership team, offering the chance to shape and drive the strategic direction of the Geography department while making a positive impact on the educational journey of the students.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead and manage the Geography department, overseeing the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement a cohesive and innovative curriculum that engages students and fosters a passion for Geography.
- Provide strong leadership and support to a team of dedicated Geography teachers, promoting professional growth and collaboration.
- Monitor student progress, identify areas for improvement, and implement effective intervention strategies.
- Drive the use of data analysis to inform teaching practices and track student achievement.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that nurtures students' curiosity and exploration of geographical concepts.
- Collaborate with other curriculum leaders and senior management to ensure cross-curricular integration and alignment.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in Geography education and implement best practices within the department.
- Manage department resources, including budgets, equipment, and facilities, to maximize learning opportunities.
- Establish and maintain strong partnerships with parents/guardians, promoting open communication and parental involvement in student learning.
- Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities, school events, and participation in relevant committees.

**Requirements**:

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification, with a specialization in Geography.
- Significant experience teaching Geography at the secondary school level, demonstrating a track record of outstanding teaching and student outcomes.
- Proven leadership skills and experience in leading and managing a successful Geography department or team.
- A deep understanding of the Geography curriculum and the ability to develop a forward-thinking and innovative curriculum.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- A collaborative and inclusive leadership style, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Strong data analysis skills and the ability to use data to inform decision-making and drive improvements.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and keeping abreast of current trends and developments in Geography education.
- Eligibility to work in the UK and appropriate background checks required for working with children.

**Salary**: £32,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
