Deputy Editor

Twickenham, United Kingdom Haymarket Media Group Full time

Haymarket has been producing world class media brands for professional audiences for more than 60 years - and we also deliver the same service for client companies and professional associations.

One of those clients is the Society and College of Radiographers, for whom we create the monthly magazine Synergy for its 32,000 members, plus online news and social media.

The audience is mainly diagnostic radiographers undertaking X-ray, CT and MRI scans, and therapeutic radiographers designing and delivering treatments for cancer patients. They are an increasingly important sector of NHS staff, and our coverage includes everything from industrial relations to the latest medical technology and human interest stories.

As deputy editor of Synergy, your main role will be to manage, commission, edit and write high-quality content, while also managing the work of a staff writer.

This is an exciting time for the brand as we transition from a print magazine to an immersive digital experience on the Shorthand platform, and you will work closely with our designer to create high quality content across all digital channels.

You will need exemplary editorial and communication skills, the ability to think creatively about digital content and to demonstrate leadership qualities while also understanding and interpreting the needs of the client.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a news editor or features editor to take the next step towards becoming a brand editor, in an autonomous, responsible role with a supportive team around you.
