We're looking for you to join our team at the Ham House Portfolio.

If you have experience in volunteer management and community engagement then we'd like to hear from you - with a team of over 200 volunteers and growing relationships with local communities and groups, this role is all about connecting with people. This is a full time role.

Please note that the salary advertised is inclusive of an outer London weighting allowance of £3,003 per annum.

**Interviews will be held at Ham House and Gardens, Richmond Upon Thames.**

Working with volunteers and local communities is vitally important for us to achieve our aims to look after and sharing our places.

Ham House and Gardens provides access to history, gardens and nature to many people and this post presents an exciting opportunity to deliver Ham’s volunteering and community ambition. Working with the Visitor Operations and Experience Manager, you'll support our people and build links with our local communities.

What you'll be doing:As Volunteering & Community Officer you'll support us in creating a positive, flexible and inclusive environment for existing and future volunteers, communities, and partners. Working across all departments and different sites across the Ham Portfolio on a variety of projects, you’ll help deliver our plan to involve volunteers and communities.

Your role will be to help develop new ways of working together and deepen relationships with existing and new audiences. Working with the Visitor Operations and Experience Manager, you will help to develop the skills our teams need to welcome new audiences.

**This role may involve volunteer line management, with the expectation of some weekend and evening working by arrangement.**
- Who we're looking forDemonstrate a sound understanding of volunteering and be enthusiastic about promoting the benefits of great volunteer involvement and opportunities
- Be passionate and enthusiastic about working with volunteers and understand the differences between staff and volunteers, particularly the legal frameworks
- Have a flexible approach and be a great team player, be able to lead on and work with other people's agendas towards a common purpose
- Be well organised and attentive to detail
- IT skills (Microsoft Office)
- Knowledge and experience of budget management
