Our client specialises in developing, designing and producing test rigs for combustion engines, transmissions and electrical drives, complex testing and assembly systems, as well as devices for leak testing for automotive manufacturers and their suppliers.

**Job purpose**:
We are looking for a Electrical Fitter to support the Manufacturing department building special purpose assembly and test machines. An excellent Electrical Fitter is well-versed in Understanding general assembly, technical detailed and electrical schematicdrawings. They are organized and results-driven with great problem-solving skills. Advanced electrical assembly skills are very useful for the role. The main purpose of this role is to Build machines to a high standard.
- Building to a high standard within budget.
- Reporting to and supporting supervisors.
- Discussing any changes and design issues with Engineering.
- Powering on machines and supporting the software commissioning engineers.
- Maintaining a tidy working area

**For success in this role, you will need the following skills**:

- Proven experience in electrical fitting and must have served an apprenticeship or trained under a recognises scheme in a related trade, such as electrician, electrical fitter, panel, wirer or electrical improver.
- Competent in reading and working to electrical schematics with an understanding of PLC’s and associated electrical components i.e. Siemens, Bosch, Unico, Telemecanique, etc.
- Proficient in 'the use of lifting equipment, slings, types of slinging and general crane safety.
- Good understanding of the machine tool build processes and the use of tools and equipment to build machinery from drawings and schematics.
- Competent in fault finding on a variety of electrical circuits and voltages ranging from 24VDC, 230VAC - 400VAC.
- Excellent understanding of the use of test equipment for the purposes of checking circuit integrity and safety.
- Be prepared to work within and adhere to the company quality systems codes of practice and work instructions.
- Process driven.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication abilities.
- A self-starter, able to work with minimum supervision.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365, with Project as an advantage.
- Automotive industry (Ford, JLR) experience would be an advantage.
