Topcliffe Surgery is delighted to be hiring a Medical Receptionist. Located in the beautiful village of Topcliffe, Topcliffe Surgery is a well-run and friendly two Partner Dispensing Practice, well-established in a purpose-built surgery. We operate with a strong communicative GP Partner team in a friendly staff/patient environment; therefore, it is essential that we recruit the right person to compliment the team.
- Greeting and directing patients,
- Patient registration,
- Booking appointments,
- Processing of information (electronic and hard copy),
- Assisting patients as required,
- Acting as the central point of contact for patients,
- Distribution of information, messages, and enquiries for the clinical team,
- Liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.
- Produce meeting agendas and record the minutes of meetings,
- Support other Administrative and Reception staff, providing cover during staff absences,
- Complete opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota.

**Person Specification**
- Essential:_
- Educated to GCSE Level or equivalent
- Experience of working with the public
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong IT skills
- Clear and polite telephone manner
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Effective time management, with the ability to accurately plan and organise
- Ability to work both as a team and independently
- Good interpersonal skills
- Problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to follow policies and procedures
- Flexible and cooperative to work between the core business hours of Mon-Fri 8am and 6.30pm.
- High level of integrity
- Sensitive and empathetic in difficult situations
- Ability to work under pressure
- Cooperation with a Standard DBS Check and employment references. Any job offers will be provisional and may be withdrawn if the aforementioned are not deemed satisfactory.
- Desirable:_
- Previous experience of Receptionist and Administrative duties
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting
- SystmOne user skills

Part-time with flexibility to cover absences.

**Salary**: Dependent on experience

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 16-25 per week

**Salary**: £10.42 per hour
