Our client, a long established manufacturing business, seek to appoint a R&D Engineer to support their design and production teams. The appointed R&D Engineer must have a mechanical engineering qualification, experience manufacturing and assembling mechanicalproducts and have a good mix of practical skills. As R&D Engineer you will build a range of bespoke products without the aid of build instructions. You need to be practically minded to figure out the best way to manufacture and assemble the product. It isvital that you are practically minded and have experience with a range of sheet metals, precision engineered or machined parts.
**R&D Engineer - Role and Responsibilities - Workshop Technician / R&D Engineer / Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Fitte**r
- Support the design and production teams on a wide range of bespoke R&D projects
- Build prototypes and provide feedback to the teams
- Manufacture/assemble, test and commission a range of mechanical products
- Inspect a range of products using manual quality inspection tools
- Formulate build instructions for the production teams
- Operate a range of machines (laser cutter, press break, hand held tools)

**R&D Engineer - Skills and Abilities - Workshop / R&D / Mechanical / Fitter / Assembly / Quality**
- Recognised qualification within mechanical engineering
- Prior experience building prototypes
- Manual quality inspection skills
- A good mix of practical mechanical engineering skills
- Experience working with a range of sheet metals.
