**Overview**:
The Village Day Nursery is currently hiring for a Maintenance Person to help manage the upkeep and general maintenance of the nursery site, ensuring that they are kept safe, attractive and functional. The role is ‘hands on’ working closely with the Nursery Gardener, the Property Maintenance Manager, Nursery Manager and Nursery Owner, to enhance and improve the environment for our children, customers and staff.

**Responsibilities**:

- Be hands-on in performing reactive and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Work closely with the Property Maintenance Manager to prioritise maintenance projects and tasks.
- Support the Property Maintenance Manager and Nursery Manager in delivering robust health and safety practices including carrying out Fire Alarm testing.
- Work with external contractors.
- Maintenance Tasks may include, but is not limited to:

- Carpentry,
- Cosmetic repairs,
- Basic electrics,
- Basic Plumbing,
- Decorating,
- Gardening /Grounds maintenance.

**Skills/ Experience Requirements**:

- Ideally you will have Electrical or Plumbing experience.
- A minimum 2 years’ experience of Building maintenance.
- A full UK driving license.
- Ability to identify maintenance tasks and carry out repairs.
- Ability to prioritise and plan effectively.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Commitment to high quality standards.
- Flexible - There may be occasional Sunday work and you will be required to be flexible to work with contractors and/ or finish projects that started on a Saturday.
- You will need to be physically fit to complete tasks that require lifting and carrying.

The working hours are 8 hours on a Saturday, working closely with the Property Maintenance Manager and Gardener. These hours can be flexible to suit the individual and the needs of the nursery.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From £12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 per week
