We are currently looking to recruit multiple Learning Support Assistants to assist within the SEND or Pastoral Departments,where will depending on qualifications, potential, and experience, of an outstanding secondary school in South London.

The position is due to start immediately and will run until the end of the academic year.

**The Role**

In the role of a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will be expected to support & assist key pupils throughout the school day. The team you will be working with are supported by trained professionals and a caring, sincere SENCo who will support you throughoutthe day. As well as cooperating with parents or carers, students, and external agencies to ensure safeguarding laws are always adhered to.

The SEND/Inclusion Team would prefer someone who is energetic, enthusiastic & dependable. You will work both 1:1 with your key student and, at times, you will direct sessions of group learning. Alongside key school staff, you will have access to existingbehaviour plans that you will use to help improve pupil behaviour witnessed in classrooms. Through time and experience, you will build a healthy working relationship with your key pupil so you can mentor and guide them, ultimately increasing overall attainment.

As such, anyone with a background centred around working within a SEND or inclusion team as well as a recognised ability to support children and young people to improve their learning & behaviour will be highly regarded.

In this role, you will be expected to demonstrate the following traits:

- Experience in working with children who have SEND (Essential)
- The capacity to form honest working relationships with students, parents or carers and colleagues alike
- You must have good oral and written communicative skills
- Good organisational and time management skills
- To be adaptable and flexible and show that you have a patient and caring approach to the work you do
- To understand that you must be a leading role model for students and colleagues
