Trainee Construction Plant Trainer

**About Us**

Apple Construction Training Limited is a specialist Construction Training Company based in the Midlands, at Fenny Compton near Southam in Warwickshire. We provide a range of construction and safety courses including the CSCS card, CPCS Red and Blue cards in a wide selection of plant courses, NPORS certificates, construction related NVQ qualifications, EUSR (Energy & Utility Skills register), NWSR, Site Safety Plus courses and many construction related Health and Safety Courses.

**Position Description**

In this role you will be trained in a variety of Construction Plant Machinery in order to be able to deliver training to our clients. When trained, you will be able to:

- Deliver training to a high standard to achieve course objectives, both practical and theory, keeping within the timings of the courses.
- Carry out Industry recognised training in accordance and compliance with scheme rules.
- Promote and maintain a safe learning environment ensuring that whilst the delivery of programmes is conducted high standards of health and safety, confidentiality, safeguarding and equality and diversity are maintained at all times.
- Complete and maintain all trainees' course reports, assessment forms, and other relevant documentation, as required by awarding bodies and quality procedures.
- Ensure that course material, equipment, training aids and documentation is available to meet the objectives of all courses
- Update and develop course material, including training aids, lesson plans and timetables
- Assist in the general operation of the Training Centre as required, ensuring that the plant is regularly maintained.

When trained you will have the following skills:

- Able to communicate effectively and confidently verbally and in writing to a range of persons and for reports
- Able to recognise and show empathy for the operating and learning abilities of others, show patience, and adapt approach to accommodate all situations
- Able to recognise poor practice against test criteria and provide appropriate feedback
- Able to lead and maintain control at all times
- Able to test effectively in both classroom and other working environments under varying conditions
- Able to deliver testing whilst offering equal access and equal opportunities to all.

**Skills**

Prepared to work toward and achieve relevant qualifications that support the vocational area of the curriculum (achieved within a given time frame).

Knowledge of current industry practices and experience/ability in construction skills useful but not essential.

Health and safety qualifications / training desirable but not essential.

Well organised and efficient with the ability to manage own workload.

Highly organised and takes pride and ownership of skills delivery.

Confidence to lead groups

Patience and clarity.

Ability to adapt and learn quickly.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work as part of a flexible team.

Full UK driving Licence is essential.

**Remuneration and benefits**

**Salary**: £23,000 per annum

Holiday: 20 days plus Bank Holidays (increasing as per employee Handbook)

Sick Pay: SSP

Pension: Contributory Pension Scheme
